2000年上映的《X战警》是《X战警》系列的第一部电影，也是凯文·费奇成为几乎所有漫威电影制片人的开端。电影讲述了具有特殊能力的一群变种人组成了一个维护世界的小组——X战警小队。脾气暴躁、独来独往的金刚狼（休·杰克曼 饰）出现了，X战警小队想极力拉拢他加入队伍，与此同时，能控制一切金属的万磁王此时也在极力拉拢金刚狼。
