《大侦探皮卡丘》于2019年推出，瑞恩·雷诺兹配音大侦探皮卡丘，贾斯蒂斯·史密斯、凯瑟琳·纽顿、渡边谦等出演，拿下4.3亿美元全球票房。影片以人类和口袋妖怪共生的超现实社会为背景，讲述王牌私家侦探失踪后，他21岁的儿子在大侦探助手皮卡丘的帮助下开始寻找真相。
目前，该续集尚处在开发的早期阶段，暂无具体的故事动态。值得一提的是，在续集中，雷诺兹将以某种方式回归，但尚未签约和确定。
