目前，作家刘慈欣创作的多部小说都已被改编成科幻影视作品，他本人也参与了影视化作品的制作，他曾担任《流浪地球》系列电影的制片人、监制、编剧，电影《疯狂的外星人》编剧，剧集版及动画版《三体》的编剧，由他编剧的电视剧《球状闪电》还有待播出。
