Griff Bonnell and his brothers come to a small Arizona town, where he works as a U.S. Marshal with the aim of arresting Howard Swain, who is one of Jessica Drummond's 40 guns. However, the town is in chaos as Brockie and his gang are causing havoc. When Brockie shoots one of Griff's friends, he and his brothers step in to stop him. Despite the chaos, Griff marches confidently towards the action, with no fear. Although Brockie's accomplices flee when they see Griff, Brockie himself, who is drunk and arrogant, does not realize what is happening. Throughout the scene, the camera alternates between close-ups of Griff's eyes and Brockie's gun until Griff finally reaches Brockie, knocking him out with a single punch.
