The story of Crypto Boy begins in Amsterdam East, where Amir, a young deliveryman, dreams of a better future. However, his aspirations are limited to delivering orders for his father Omar's outdated Mexican restaurant, Burrito. As their neighborhood undergoes gentrification, with convenience stores being replaced by trendy coffee bars, sushi shops, and fitness studios, Amir becomes frustrated that his father ignores all his ideas for modernizing Burrito. On the other hand, Omar sees his son as an irresponsible idler, incapable of taking over the restaurant. The situation worsens when a large real estate company purchases the block and doubles the rent, putting the restaurant and their home at risk of being lost forever. However, when Amir attends a meetup with a charismatic young crypto entrepreneur, he sees a solution to all their problems.
